Crescendo has entered the UK market with an AI native platform combining contact centre, ticketing, workforce management, quality assurance and knowledge tools in one system, signing early UK customers including Dr. Martens, Funky Pigeon, Mention Me and RealVNC. The launch challenges the long-standing model in which businesses buy separate tools for each function, aiming to remove rather than raise the ceiling on what AI can do for CX operations.

The San Francisco based company was founded in 2024 by Andy Lee, who previously spent nearly 25 years building CX outsourcing group Alorica. Lee argues that layering AI onto multiple disconnected products merely produces a faster version of the same fragmentation problem.

The platform is built around specialised AI agents covering customer requests, live staff assistance, conversation insights, quality scoring and workforce forecasting, sitting on an operating layer for orchestration and simulation.

The structural driver behind the UK launch is three decades of CX software built on the assumption that people do the work and software simply speeds them up, producing a separate tool for every job. "AI doesn't raise that ceiling, it removes it, but only if what's underneath was built for AI in the first place," said Andy Lee, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Crescendo.

"Self-improving doesn't mean self-authorising," said Tod Famous, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Crescendo. "The system operates based on a governance model where the people are always in control."

Beyond its UK customer base, Crescendo has also signed Good Eggs Grocery, Grindr and Headspace, and reported AI handled volume growing 600% over the past year, with customer dissatisfaction rates falling from 5.8% to 0.68%. These figures were not independently verified.

Crescendo has raised $54.5 million (approximately €45.8 million) in a Series C round backed by General Catalyst and Alorica, and acquired customer operations firm PartnerHero in 2024. Standalone revenue figures were not disclosed.

"We were on Zendesk, but reporting was fragmented and costs kept climbing," said Chris Jocson, Chief Operating Officer of Good Eggs Grocery. "Crescendo gave us one platform with stronger visibility and cleaner reporting, and cut our CX stack costs by more than 60%."

For the sector, the UK launch reflects a wider shift among CX software vendors toward bundled, outcome-based platforms rather than standalone point solutions, as British buyers weigh consolidation against the risk of ceding more operational control to AI.
