Jet2 Charter has put its first aircraft configured in a dedicated business class layout into service, adding a premium option to its established charter business. The specially configured Boeing 737-800NG has already flown its first charter customers and is available for further bookings throughout the winter season.
Normally configured with 189 seats, the aircraft offers 76 business class seats with a minimum of 43 inches of legroom throughout, more personal space and the level of exclusivity many charter customers require. Customers also receive upgraded catering tailored to their requirements and delivered by Jet2.com’s award-winning crew.
The structural driver is demand from sports, music, entertainment and specialist groups seeking privacy, comfort, flexibility and an elevated travel experience. The Jet2 Charter team has reported “exceptional” early feedback, with customers praising the premium feel, comfort, generous personal space and exclusive onboard environment.
“This is the first time that we have featured a dedicated business class specification on our aircraft, so this is an incredibly exciting development for charter customers,” said Trevor Caplis, Head of Charter & Airline Sales at Jet2. “This luxurious cabin environment, alongside the award-winning Jet2 customer service, looks set to be a huge hit with charter clients this winter.”
The aircraft is based at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Charter customers are supported by Jet2’s experienced charter team and the airline’s dedicated 24/7 operational team, alongside the customer service of the UK’s third-largest airline.
Jet2 plc, the UK’s leading provider of package holidays and third largest airline, is headquartered in Leeds and trades on AIM under the ticker JET2. In its preliminary results for the year to 31 March 2026 it reported revenue of £7,482.1 million, profit before tax of £551.0 million and a record 20.8 million flown passengers.
For the sector, the aircraft reflects charter operators competing on premium onboard experience and dedicated support for groups that need privacy and flexibility.
