Kainos has launched Actonomy, a new AI product business dedicated to unlocking enterprise AI at scale. Actonomy turns a decade of Kainos' enterprise AI experience, spanning machine learning, generative AI and agentic AI, into a platform for deploying AI quickly, safely and repeatedly in production.

The structural driver behind Actonomy is the gap between AI experimentation and production deployment, with an estimated 95 per cent of AI pilots never reaching production and leaving much of that potential value locked away. Actonomy specialises exclusively in production AI, packaging proven orchestration approaches and technical IP from hundreds of scaled enterprise deployments.

Built on Microsoft and Anthropic, with flexible deployment across cloud and local NVIDIA infrastructure, the platform includes proprietary small language models for domain-specific tasks and evaluations to assess accuracy and reliability. Kainos said the approach has cut the time required to deploy AI into production by up to 75 per cent.

Actonomy operates with lean Forward Deployed Engineering teams that work directly with customers to embed the platform into critical processes, reducing delivery risk. The business starts with four signed enterprise customers following a soft launch in July, including a UK specialist lender targeting fewer non-performing loans and a UK water utility applying AI efficiencies within £40 million of operational spend.

Actonomy launches as Kainos deepens its wider AI investment, including joining Cosine's coalition to help shape the UK's first large language model under the government's £500 million Sovereign AI programme. For the sector, the spinout reflects growing pressure on technology providers to move beyond AI pilots toward repeatable, production-grade deployment.
