VodafoneThree has launched SuperMobile, a premium 5G+ network tier offering up to four times faster speeds than standard plans, alongside a guaranteed minimum download speed of 15mbps through its dedicated 5G+ FastTrack technology. The launch marks the next phase of an £11 billion network investment plan and introduces a new enterprise-grade mobile portfolio for business customers.

Detailed in the launch coverage, VodafoneThree is the UK operator formed from the 2025 merger of Vodafone UK and Three UK, and is now wholly owned by Vodafone Group Plc following its buyout of CK Hutchison's stake. The company says it is the first and only mobile network operator globally to guarantee a minimum download speed, with customers able to leave without a fee if that assurance is not met.

The structural driver behind SuperMobile is a shift away from competing purely on price toward competing on measurable quality and performance, with VodafoneThree research finding that half of customers would consider switching networks for better service and 43 per cent feel where they live leaves them behind on connectivity.

"After one year from the merger, we're on track. Speeds are up 50% year on year, we've eradicated 16,500km2 of not-spots, upgraded more than 2,000 sites in line with the committed plan, and it's all translated into results," said Max Taylor, CEO of VodafoneThree. "If that was success in chapter one, chapter two is going to be investment."

The enterprise portfolio, Vodafone SuperMobile for Business, is built around National Business Slice, National Critical Slice and 5G+ Local Slicing, giving organisations dedicated network capacity separated from consumer traffic. "Customer experience is central in what we do for customers today, for our reputation, but also the customers' output," said Nick Gliddo, VodafoneThree's business director, adding that a startup in Belfast should have the same level of innovation available as companies headquartered in London.

VodafoneThree is wholly owned by Vodafone Group Plc, which trades on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker VOD. Financial results for VodafoneThree are not reported separately from the wider group. Contract consumer customers can add SuperMobile for £3 to £12 a month depending on their existing plan, with the service also available to small businesses and large enterprises.

For the sector, the launch reflects UK mobile operators competing on guaranteed performance and business grade network slicing rather than price alone, as demand for reliable connectivity grows across consumer and enterprise customers.
