Singapore Airlines (SIA), the Singapore-based full-service carrier, has announced that passengers will be able to watch live FIFA World Cup 2026 matches onboard, delivering real-time sports coverage as part of a broader push to elevate the inflight customer experience.
As reported by Future Travel Experience, live coverage will run from 11 June to 19 July 2026, broadcast through Sport 24 on the airline's KrisWorld Live TV platform, allowing passengers to follow tournament action in real time at 30,000 feet.
KrisWorld Live TV is available across the airline's Boeing 787-10 and Boeing 737-8 fleets, as well as 41 Airbus A350-900 and eight Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Live broadcasts remain subject to satellite coverage, broadcaster arrangements, and regulatory approvals on selected routes.
Yeoh Phee Teik, senior vice president customer experience at Singapore Airlines, said: "Bringing the excitement of the FIFA World Cup onboard keeps our customers connected to one of the world's biggest sporting events at 30,000 feet. These live football matches complement our KrisWorld line-up, and reflect our commitment to continuously enhance the Singapore Airlines inflight experience and offerings."
Beyond live coverage, KrisWorld offers passengers more than 1,900 entertainment options, spanning films, television series, music, and news updates via BBC News.
The move positions live sport as a differentiator in the competitive premium inflight experience market, as airlines seek new ways to deepen passenger engagement on long-haul routes. Sport 24, the broadcast partner enabling the service, delivers live sports content to airlines globally.
